A question you can ask the book

Analyst is a read-only assistant over the client book. It answers questions in plain language, writes nothing back, refuses to recommend, and identifies itself as an AI system.

On 28 August 2026 Analyst went to production for every seat. It is a chatbot, and it is worth being precise about what that means here, because the word covers a great deal that is not this.

Analyst reads. It answers questions about the book the platform already holds: which clients a Signal touched this week, what a Health Score is built from, which communications a pattern was drawn from. It does not write into your systems, it does not complete Tasks, and it does not recommend. Ask it whether a trade is suitable and it will tell you what the record says, not what to do.

What people ask it

  • Which clients have not been contacted since their last mandate change
  • What sits behind this client's Health Score, and which part of it moved this quarter
  • Every Signal still open on this book after fourteen days
  • What we told this client about liquidity, and when we told them
  • Which suitability records are missing a documented rationale

Every one of those is a question about something the firm already wrote down. None of them asks the software to form a view.

Why it refuses things

That boundary is deliberate. A recommendation is a regulated act and it belongs to a person. The moment software makes one, the firm has to defend it, and a firm cannot defend a sentence it never saw produced.

Analyst identifies itself as an AI system in the interface. The EU AI Act has required that of systems which interact directly with people since 2 August 2026, and we would have done it anyway. A relationship manager who cannot tell what produced an answer has no way to weigh it.
