Dismiss a Signal with a reason
Dismiss a Signal when it is wrong or does not apply. You give a reason, the Signal leaves your default views, and the decision is recorded with your name and the time.
Common questions
Is a dismissed Signal deleted? No. It is archived with your reason, your name and the time, and leaves your default views.
Should I dismiss a Signal I am already handling? No. Acknowledge it. Dismissing says the Signal was wrong or does not apply, which is a different statement for anyone reviewing the file later.
Will Luscent stop raising this kind of Signal for the Client? No. A dismissal applies to one Signal. If the same change appears in a later exchange, a new Signal is raised.
Before you start
Dismissing is for a Signal that is wrong or does not apply. If the Signal is right and you are dealing with it, acknowledge it instead.
Read the source first. See why a Signal was raised shows how.
Steps
Open the Signal from the Dashboard, the Signals page or the Client's Detect tab.
Select Dismiss.
Give a reason. Write it for a compliance officer reading it in a year, who cannot ask you. "Client confirmed by phone on 2 October 2026 that the transfer is between two of his own accounts with us" says more than "not relevant".
Confirm. The Signal is archived and leaves the default views of the Dashboard, the Signals page and the Detect tab.
Acknowledge or dismiss
Acknowledge when the Signal is right and you are handling it. It stays visible, de-emphasised, until the issue is resolved.
Dismiss when the Signal is wrong or does not apply. It is archived with your reason.
Compliance Signals
A Compliance Signal describes a rule breach in the Client's data. Dismissing the Signal does not change the data. If the breach is real, fix the cause, for example by updating the suitability profile; the Signal then closes on its own. If you think the rule fired on wrong data, correct the data at its source and tell your compliance team. See Read a rules-engine Signal.
COMPLIANCE NOTE. A dismissal is a decision about a Client, so it is recorded like one: who dismissed the Signal, when, and why. Write the reason for the person who will read it during a review.
What happens after
The Signal is archived with your reason, not deleted.
If the same change shows up again in a later exchange, Luscent raises a new Signal. A dismissal applies to one Signal, not to the topic.
